Calling all Photographers - Focus on the Moraine by December 31
and Win $500!
KING CITY, ON, November 25, 2008- The deadline for the 2009 Moraine In Focus Photo Contest is fast approaching! We are accepting photos taken on the Oak Ridges Moraine from professional, amateur and youth (under 16) photographers.
The Oak Ridges Moraine runs through Peel, York and Durham Regions, Dufferin, Simcoe, Peterborough and Northumberland Counties, and the City of Kawartha Lakes. It is a unique and beautiful landform to southern Ontario with breathtaking vistas, rolling hills, wooded valleys, and lakes.
There will be three grand prizes of $500! Other prizes include gift certificates, hiking and gardening supplies, hiking trips, and theatre tickets.
All entries must be received by 5 p.m. EST on Wednesday, December 31st, 2008. Each photograph must be accompanied by an entry form, available on the photo contest website or by calling 905-579-0411 x 106.

Gallery events showcasing the winning and honorable mention photographs will be held in May 2009 across the Oak Ridges Moraine: Willow Springs Winery (Stouffville), Ocala Orchards and Winery (Port Perry) and Oak Heights Winery (Warkworth).
The Moraine in Focus Photo Contest is designed to encourage the exploration and appreciation of the Oak Ridges Moraine by its residents and visitors in order to raise awareness of this important geographical feature.
This contest is a partnership between the Monitoring the Moraine and Caring for the Moraine Projects. It is supported by businesses, arts organizations, non-government organizations, the Oak Ridges Moraine Foundation and the George Cedric Metcalf Charitable Foundation.
