Research
The
Oak Ridges Moraine Foundation (ORMF) has supported selected Oak Ridges Moraine research efforts conducted by universities,
colleges and non-government organizations. This research has successfully
contributed to filling a gap in the overall research mandate of the provincial
ministries.
Research support was directed at
improving the climate for Moraine-oriented research and monitoring, including:
- encouraging more timely sharing and easier access
to information collected by governments and NGOs;
- support for forums dealing with Moraine-related
research in order to identify and raise the profile of current research
activities, needs for additional research and share results; and
- encouraging monitoring and reporting on the
status of the Moraine's resources..
ORMF staff are actively involved in developing an Oak
Ridges Moraine Research Coalition which is being led by the University of
Waterloo and Save the Oak Ridges Moraine Coalition.
