In 2002, the Oak Ridges Moraine Foundation (ORMF) was started with an investment of $15 million from the Province of Ontario. Since opening its doors, the ORMF has efficiently granted $14.1 million to 177 projects and leveraged an additional $35.8 million. This means that the Province’s original $15 million was grown into $50 million worth of projects! While much has been accomplished much remains to be done. The ORMF continues to advocate to the Province that they need to reinvest in the long term health of the Oak Ridges Moraine. Without continued support the ORMF will have to close its doors at the end of 2012 and end its mission for headwaters recovery.
