Chadwick - livestock restriction fencing and tree planting

The Chadwick family has a 10 hectare property located on the top of the Oak Ridges Moraine, at the watershed divide between the Humber River to the south, and Lake Simcoe to the north. Over the past 10 years, the Chadwicks have worked to enhance the property through their ongoing efforts to plant native trees and shrubs. Their stewardship projects have included:
  • Installed farm fencing which confined cattle to their property and eliminated access to the wetlands, forest and adjacent properties;and
  • Purchased and planted a selection of native trees and shrubs grown from locally collected seed. These were planted throughout a 3.5 hectare area.
